Funnily enough, I am actually looking forward to my oil change scheduled for the end of the day…
And no, it’s not because I enjoy chores or taking care of the necessities. Actually the only chores I remotely enjoy are vacuuming and power-washing (very satisfying to see all of that gunk disappear). Over the weekend my sister-in-law handed over a new book to read called American Wife by Curtis Sittenfeld. Now that I am hooked, I am looking forward to my 30 minutes of uninterrupted reading time in the waiting room of the service station. No Judge Judy or People’s Court for me.
On our way over to the Hotel San Jose for drinks on Saturday, we found ourselves in the middle of what seemed like hundreds of hot rods and vintage cars. There were at least triple the amount of car enthusiasts walking along the paths of South Congress. We never did figure out what the occasion was but maybe some of you who live in Austin know. And by the way, we made an unannounced stop at the bookstore on Sunday so unfortunately I did not have my recommended list with me. We’ll be going again this weekend with my list tucked in my purse.

Love all those pictures!! And jealous of Hotel San Jose!!! Can’t tell you how many times I have tried to stay there and it is all booked!!!

Oh yes, I LOVE these pictures! I’m not sure what it is. The girliness? The details in each picture? One thing for sure…looking at them really brightens my mood! I’m due for an oil change as well, but definitely not looking forward to it…

I know what you mean! We went on a road trip a month ago and just down the road, realized there was something wrong with our tires (the last place that had balanced them didn’t fill them up!). We had to stop at a tire store and stay there for an hour while they worked on our tires. Thank goodness I had my book because I actually enjoyed the stop!
