By now you have probably seen Michelle Obama’s Inauguration Ball gown that was designed by Jason Wu. Her soft white chiffon one-shoulder dress piqued my curiosity about what this young designer has been up to in his rapidly growing career. The 26-year-old designer’s polished 2009 Spring RTW collection is the definition of casual elegance. A fresh palette of royal blue, white silks, and fuschia cashmere appears as if it breezed down the runway. Red, white, and blue? Not quite. Wu’s approach already has the experts comparing him to Oscar de la Renta.
