Ondine, Petrovsky, and Enid love

Ondine Karady from Top Design

At last Ondine Karady gave us a glimpse of her true talent on this week’s episode of Top Design. With a mix of pieces from Jaxon and Plantation, Ondine transformed one of the smallest rooms in the house into a sophisticated black-and-white study. I perked up as soon as I saw the infamous vines and flowers wallpaper, foo dogs, and the twig leg table that squeezed itself through the doors. Ondine completed a room that is almost up to par with her incredible sets from Sex And The City, including two of my favorites: the homes of Aleksandr Petrovsky (Mikhail Baryshnikov) and Enid Frick (Candice Bergen). Remember these?

Apartment of Aleksandr Petrovsky from Sex And The City

Ah, the memories. My favorite room in the loft is Petrovsky’s streamlined kitchen, which reminds me a little of Big’s kitchen in the Sex And The City movie. I always thought it was strange that the staircase did not have a railing but it makes perfect sense for filming purposes. Without a railing, it does not hinder the view of Carrie walking down the steps in Petrovksy’s white shirt or of his staff as they busily prepare him for an upcoming trip to Paris in the makeshift home office. OK, I guess I have watched this show too many times :)

Candice Bergen's apartment from Sex And The City

Enid’s (Candice Bergen) apartment is fitting for an editor in chief of Vogue Magazine. But which do you prefer? Ondine’s portfolio gives us even more of a sense of her style. And if you need to catch-up before the finale next week, read Linda’s Blogging Top Design. Her team is even running a contest that will be judged by Margaret Russell.

Beautiful pictures! It’s a such a shame, but I don’t think Ondine has demonstrated her potential or talent until very late in the game. Both Aleksandr’s and Enid’s apartments are gorgeous, you would never think they were designed by the same person.
