Glamorous office of Amy Fine Collins in Elle Decor

Before I sat down to work this morning, I noticed this glamorous study of journalist, Amy Fine Collins, in Elle Decor. The dark yet warm charcoal walls of the Park Avenue apartment create a mood, especially when paired with zebra prints, fashion illustrations, and even a gilded Louis XV–style desk that once belonged to Hugh Hefner.

Items for a glamorous office

I poked around to see how I could recreate this room. (1) The desk is a little too ornate for my tastes but I did find this 1920’s French writing desk with Ormalu mounts and Rococo styled drawer pulls. I actually prefer something more along the lines of (5), the black 1940s lacquered desk with the more masculine feel. (2) Artwork by the crazy-talented Leigh Bullard is a must. Visit her Etsy shop for more fashion inspired illustrations and pick up a few frames (4) from IKEA while you’re at it. (3) I had to figure out how to get my “chair love” sunflower zebra chair that I mentioned last week into the room — perfect occasional chair. And I would top my desk with a lamp similar to (6) the longevity table lamp.
