My style: Mackage

October 13th, 2008 · 7 Comments

Some people like the seasons whereas I would be happy if it were in the 90s all year long — that’s why I live in Houston! But I am getting used to these cold holidays in America because it does add to the spirit of Christmas when we visit Jon’s family in Philadelphia. No pool parties and Aussie barbecues like we had growing up in Sydney. And now to the point of this post…

Mackage Fall 08

I have blogged about Mackage before and just noticed that they have released their fall & winter 08 collection. These coats are worth cold noses. Cinched waists, delicate pleating, and puffed sleeves are seen in their leather and wool coats inspired by the Russian military uniforms. I particularly love the high collars (no scarf necessary) and the wide belts that give your figure more shape. I’ll need an extended vacation in cooler climates to justify purchasing one of these but the weather has been crazy the past couple of years that you never know what will happen. Can you believe it snowed in Houston two years ago?

I love these coats! If only I still lived in Chicago, then they would be perfect…but maybe I can get away with wearing one in Sydney…

I’m a hot weather gal too, but I still love to wear a warm and stylish coat!

I live in montreal (where mackage is from) and everyone is KITTED out in these coats as soon as the temp drops. You should check out their sister brand, Soia & Kyo. http://www.soiakyo.com/
I have a coat from S & K and it takes quite a bit for me to switch to my parka because it looks so darn cute but it does go as low as -28 during our winters so a very technical parka is a requirement to survive our winters…(why do I live in Canada?)

Oh my goodness, I just looked at Soia & Kyo and have fallen in love with so many of their coats. Thanks for passing along the site. Stay warm, Krista.
