Project Runway: Wedding and bridesmaid dresses

October 9th, 2008 · 16 Comments

Last night we got a glimpse of the Project Runway designers’ final collections that will be making their way down the crisp, white runway at Bryant Park. I cannot recall whether I was more excited to see Christian’s “fierce” collection in Season 4 or now Leanne’s wave-inspired garments this season. But last night’s episode made me very excited about what lies beneath the white tents. Here are my favorite moments from the Season Finale Part 1 episode:

Project Runway Season Finale bridal and bridesmaid gowns

1. Leanne’s bridal and bridesmaid combination were to die for. As the camera panned from bottom to top of Leanne’s bridal gown, I was more and more intrigued. The bodice was absolutely gorgeous and the pocket detail was an unexpected touch. Her soft aqua bridesmaid’s dress complimented the gown beautifully.

2. Tim Gunn riding a bicycle. He is by far the cutest man on television. Tim, can you please be my friend?

3. The story of Korto’s childhood and how she embraces her past. Korto seems so grounded and a genuinely good person who won’t take crap from anyone but will also leave things in the past. I have even more respect for her as a designer.

4. We have to mention Korto’s color palette of rich gold, chartreuse, and emerald green that was inspired by her surroundings.

5. Kenley’s Brooklyn apartment and improved attitude. Did she finally respect Tim Gunn’s opinion? Good girl. But maybe that’s because he sang her praises. I thought her quintessential Brooklyn digs were livable and perfect for an upcoming designer.

6. Jerell’s sweet and supportive family who only wants to see him succeed in a creative field that he is passionate about.

I’m tempted to view the final collections but trying really hard to restrain myself. If you like, you can view them here (but don’t say I didn’t warn you :) ). And if you are getting married soon and love Jerell’s dress, it’s currently up for auction at $205. I think that’s a steal!

What were your favorite moments from last night?
