Frame it up

April 17th, 2008 · 4 Comments

Sometimes I like wall art just as much for the frame as I do for the actual painting, mixed media piece, or drawing. Case in point — at the Bayou City Art Festival there was a lovely artist who painted on top of black & white photographs and framed these pieces in her very own handpainted frames. I only wish I could remember her name so that I could show you those beauties. But what do you think of these from Second Line Frames ?

Salvaged wood frames from Second Line Frames

You would have to find a photo or object that could handle such an impactful frame. They are constructed from salvaged wood found after Hurricane Katrina. According to their Etsy profile, a portion of their sales is donated back to the rehabilitation project of the beloved New Orleans.

I would just hang the frames by themselves. What a great story.
