Do you feel like you have a whole new room to decorate in the summer? Our patio is not very exciting and eventually we’ll get around to decorating it if we end up deciding to stay here. My first instinct would be to introduce bright pops of color (you know I love color) but it would probably clash with the more traditional style of the house. So just for fun, and only for fun (I promise, Jon) I pulled together a few items that would work in the space and may suit yours…

(Clockwise from left: in the breeze painting, tava square charger, sleek bamboo pot, decking tile, sommar glasses and pitcher, lotus outdoor pillows, branches bowls, petrified wood cheese tray, bain de soleil chaises, & lead lantern)
The palette turned out to be quite earthy and was inspired by the colors by in the piece by Tandi Venter. “In the Breeze” is now available in the outdoor collection at art.com, which can hang all year long without getting damaged from the elements. Very nifty! Two of my favorite tabletop pieces are the petrified wood cheese platters from Velocity Art & Design (talk about handsome) and the branches bowls by Vivre Selection. Unlike the painting, chaises, and pillows, I wouldn’t leave these out on the patio all the time but they would definitely make an appearance if I were entertaining friends.
And did you notice the wood deck tile from West Elm? How is it that I’ve never seen these before. They come in sets of 4 squares and would and probably make me feel like I was on vacation every time I stepped on them.
Enjoy your weekends, everyone!

I love this calm palette. “In the breeze” is beautiful, and that lovely sommar glass set is a steal — I was so surprised to see they were from Ikea!

I love that painting, especially because you can leave it outside all year long. We could probably pull some of the greys, silvers, and blues from it and create a cool color palette too. I’m imagining silver planters!
