While I was planting some flowers over the weekend, I looked over at the remnants of our herb garden from last year. The thyme and oregano are still thriving, but the parsley has seen better days and the basil, well, that died a long time ago. Our herb garden has actually gotten a lot of use over the past year. I’m no chef but I can pretend to be Barefoot Contessa when she goes out to her lovely garden in the Hamptons to pick fresh herbs for her recipes.

Aren’t these mini nickel herb stakes (top right) lovely? Nina Gibson Designs, an Etsy seller, is the creator behind them (and thanks to Kylie over at All Things Lovely for discovering these). What a brilliant way to pretty up my garden! I think I’ll plant a wider variety of herbs this year so these will be helpful until I can easily distinguish the herbs.
Rae Dunn at Zanisa has a porcelain line of herb garden markers that are oh-so-cute. The stakes come beautifully packaged so they could be a good gift for your gardener friends. I love the stoneware herb markers from Mudpeyes, mainly because of the gorgeous turquoise color. And finally, the copper plant hanging tags from Jill Morzillo would be great for a more urban feel to your herb garden.
All this talk reminds me that I better go and water those plants…

Oh, of course, Kylie! I don’t know how I found your blog but I remember clicking your name because, well, that’s my name too! So I just had to see what you were up to. And I’m in love with your home/garden renovation projects. I also wish I had known about you when I got married because your invitations are lovely. We ended up making them ourselves and they actually turned out well but ordering from you would have been a whole lot easier.

I love the turquoise stoneware herb markers by Mudpeyes but cannot find how to order them on their website. Please advise how I can order this item. Thank you.

Alberta — it looks like she no longer sells these garden markers. You may contact the seller through her Etsy store and find out whether she has any more in stock: http://www.etsy.com/shop_sold.php?user_id=5021286
