Eco-friendly products for the home

I’m feeling the need to be green. Interior Design magazine tipped us off in an e-mail last month showcasing designers whose entire collections are eco-friendly. I decided to browse their green section last night because we are still looking for some fabulous bedroom furniture. On the way, I found other products that you might enjoy for your own homes…

Eco-friendly products from ducduc & Iannone

Ducduc designs and manufactures children’s furniture with sustainably harvested hardwoods. Imagine your baby waking up in a cabana canopy crib! If you lean towards the modern taste in furniture, then these products may suit your home perfectly, especially if you see your nursery as an extension of your house rather than a completely different room. Ducduc’s products definitely aren’t the typical baby-baby cribs and beds you see in stores but they remind me a little of DwellStudio’s line at Target. Their green edge unfortunately means a much higher price tag.

Iannone is another eco-friendly designer and I’m in love with their green mod cabinet. I’ll keep it in mind for when we start looking at side tables for our bedroom (great for hiding our piles of books and clutter!). Iannone uses a mixture of bamboo, FSC certified plywood, reclaimed stalks of the sorghum plant, and other reclaimed woods which are are often finished with low VOC lacquer. I love the inlay patterns on their designs and if I didn’t already have the baringer coffee table from Z Gallerie (my favorite piece of furniture in our house!), then I would definitely enquire about their mod coffee table.
