Black and white wish list

March 6th, 2008 · 21 Comments

It’s a black & white Thursday. And that’s because some of my promo materials were delivered this morning and now I’m just in a black & white vintage-esque mood. I thought I would gather a few things that have caught my eye in stores and online. Holly from decor8 inspired us to create our own wish lists so that’s exactly what I’ve done. Have you created your own?

So here is what I like in the Bandelle colors (we’ll talk about aqua later). I found a collection of knobs from Anthropologie and they are way too cute. We have an old, ugly dresser upstairs that I’m thinking of painting black (maybe go for a rustic look?) and moving it into my studio. It’s in the guest bedroom right now because we don’t know what to do with it. I think the wool fig branch pillow from Hable Construction would look incredibly stylish on Oly’s hanna chair. Perhaps we could set it right next to the scroll bird shade from Urban Outfitters. I had actually forgotten about this store until recently. For the past couple of years I’ve kept walking right by the Urban Outfitters but I don’t know what made me stop this time. Major improvements in the home section. Love it.

A couple of things from Lille caught my eye like the swallow plate and the square tray — perfect for martinis and a little Frank Sinatra. And I’m looking forward to flipping through the pages of Jean-Michel Berts’s fabulous photography book on New York. How I wished I lived there. Maybe The Light of New York will hold me over for a little while.

And finally, let’s look at fashion. There is nothing special about Betsey Johnson’s v-neck dress other than the fact that I could wear it over and over again. However, I do love these Ellen Tracy pumps…ooooh. And the Poetic License flats would be good for everyday wear.

That’s it for my black & white wish list. What’s on yours?
