I would love to live in Victory Ford’s apartment on Lipstick Jungle. Victory, played by the beautiful Lindsay Price, is a fashion designer on NBC’s new hit show. Lipstick Jungle’s set designers better watch out because I want to move in right now. Her apartment has so much personality, created by a mix of antiques, candy-colored walls, designer furniture, and eye-popping artwork. I have been totally inspired by her apartment that I did a little digging around to see if I could recreate the look on a much smaller budget.

Let’s start with the living room. Victory Ford’s blue sofa reminds me of the Rochelle apartment sofa that I saw on the weekend at Crate and Barrel. Although it’s not as plump and definitely not a designer piece, this blue cotton fabric sofa will do the trick. Pair it with the Cole armchair from Room & Board in the guava-colored valor blush and you will have all of the main seating from Victory’s living room. For accent pillows, try out Thomas Paul’s chrysanthemums cotton twill and the Judy Ross spray pillow, similar to Victory’s embroidered pillows.
In the March edition of Elle Decor, you might be inspired by the walls painted in vibrant and unexpected hues that promote the art rather than compete with it. Pick up a copy to see interior decorator Katie Ridder’s take on non gallery white wall colors. Like Ridder’s, the shades of Victory Ford’s walls are not for the faint at heart. The closest match that I could find on-screen to the pink walls in Victory’s apartment is Benjamin Moore’s raspberry mousse. Her eye-popping artwork includes a large lips painting similar to Eight Lips and an oriental bust on top of a console table in the reading area. The circus of colors are toned down by sheer curtains similar to the Amalfi floral curtains at Neiman Marcus.

Now we’ll move on to the kitchen. This room is another show-stopper, mainly because of the gorgeous glass tile. I found the Lush blend in a color palette called the “Hamptons” from Modwalls. These 1×2 tiles are in the colors of sea, sand, and sky but they may have different color combinations that are closer to Victory’s kitchen tile. An all purpose utility cart from Target could be used as a tv stand on the side. And for a touch of glamour, let’s try the Mari Chandelier from Modern Dose. I’ve been seeing a lot more chandeliers in bathrooms and kitchens recently. They can look incredibly stylish, especially in rooms with smokey grey walls. The wall color in Victory’s kitchen might be similar to Summer Blue from Benjamin Moore, but it looks like it has a hint of purple. Clearly this is not an IKEA kitchen, but you could replicate the look of the bottom cabinets with the Akurum system and Lansa handles.
We haven’t seen much of Victory Ford’s other rooms in her house so we’ll have to keep watching Lipstick Jungle. I hope that we will get a glimpse of her bedroom soon since we’re just about to tackle our own as an anniversary gift to each other. Believe it or not, it wasn’t even my idea! But I’m thrilled…

Thanks, Kate. Love your blog too! I found a load of Judy Ross pillows that could work in any room. And I don’t know why but the Lips print is calling my name. It’s not really my style but I’m so attracted to bright colors right now.

Kylie, you are an inspiration… Heard about your fabulous jewelry all the way back in Sydney!! I am not exactly sure what this Lipstick Jungle thing is (we dont get that) but the pics are cool. I am about to renovate, so searching madly for weird and wonderful things to fill my home with - so hard to find what I want.
Stay gorgeous & chat soon Kat xx

Kat - you are so sweet! I’ll shoot you an email tonight. Can’t wait to hear about your renovation plans and your pregnant belly. My best advice is to get a bunch of design magazines (Real Living? Inside Out?) to see what you’re drawn to and then go from there. I find it hard to make that first step because there are so many styles that I like but this always helps.

Erin, will Antara Home start selling online? This would be great for those of us who aren’t in the area. We’d love it if you kept us updated on your products, especially any you see in Victory Ford’s fabulous apartment. I missed the episode last night so thank goodness for TiVo.

Jon, I have been trying to get a close-up of the newel so that I can start searching for a similar product. I’ll let you know if I am successful. Are you renovating your home?

Karen & Anonymous — wish I had a source for the painting. Hopefully they’ll show a close-up of it when the season starts again this Fall. I promise to post it if I find it.

we don’t sell anything on line as of right now but you can check out our web page antarahome.com. we sell mainly custom made pieces from very tallented artists, and unfortunatley not all of their stuff can be put on the web page. we can ship products to your home tho, it might just take a bit. check it out!!!

I googled “Victory Ford’s Apartment” on the odd chance I might find a picture or something. I never dreamed I’d find an amazing break down on how to create your own Victory Ford look. This site is so awesome….
Thanks
