I do like to cook but I’ve never done it in style. It wasn’t until I came across these adorable vintage aprons at Anthropologie yesterday that it made me want to entertain every day. Here are some of my favorites: Lucky ladybugs ($38), Yellow butterflies ($38), Camellia ($38).

Kitchen aprons aren’t just for avoiding those messy spills; they are seen as retro-chic fashion accessories today. Influenced by the romanticism of a bygone era, owners of Jessie Steele have tried to recreate that symbol of grace and beauty in the kitchen. Their vintage kitchen apron designs not only show off your curves, but also feature a wide variety of eye-catching prints, sashes, and piping in just the right places.

The kitchen apron sensation is part of the growing interest in cooking and entertaining, of which I have gladly joined. With a world of resources — fantastic cookbooks, on-demand gourmet cooking shows, and uncommon products now widely available — it is easy to get caught up in the fun of trying out new recipes and figuring out creative ways to entertain.  Pimento Ruffle kitchen apron

Vintage aprons make fantastic bridal shower or hostess gifts. Hmmm…which friend will join me as a Giada de Laurentiis wanna-be in their new pimento ruffle apron ($39.95)…
