Could your dreams be any sweeter? Château Les Roches, a hidden gem deep in the countryside of Burgundy, France, has now hit the top of my list of places to stay. Even my husband, a five-star hotel or resort kind of guy, was simply enchanted by this little bed-and-breakfast.

Driving through the thick forest fog on small dirt roads posed a challenge but almost added to the mystical charm of the chateau. Les Roches stands majestically on the hills of the small medieval town of Mont Saint Jean. It was built at the turn of 19th century by a Parisian judge for his mistress. Great way to impress – it’s your turn to be the judge…
Tobias and Marco, owners and creators of this little piece of heaven now known as Château Les Roches, couldn’t have made our stay any more comfortable. Imagine the fire constantly burning in the salon, smells and tastes of Marco’s fabulous French cooking, incredible mix of antique and modern French decor throughout the house, views of the gorgeous provincial garden from your bedroom, and even Molton Brown bath products in your luxurious bathrooms. Attention to detail is their specialty and I can see why Conde Nast recommends this property.
The chateau also serves as a small art gallery for the work of Yu Kun Yang, a very expressive abstract artist influenced by such masters as Kandinksy, Gorky and DeKooning.
Sweet dreams, Château Les Roches.
